Minerals are essential in Aquaculture nutrition, they play important role in osmotic regulation and moulting, mineral ions are also components of many biological compounds such as enzymes, hormones and high energy compounds.  Since aquatic animals can obtain minerals from both ambient water and feed, dietary supplements of selected minerals could facilitate better survival and growth in low salinity conditions.
