Tamba Tauli

This vessel also known as ‘Taul’ (तौल) in Kumaoni, is an Aipan painted design of old traditional vessel which was used in several to make rice in places of Uttarakhand in the past. The vessel is made of Copper. When the villages did not have access to regular electricity and LPG gas the Taul was used to make Rice for the family on the wooden fires. As The LPG and Electricity started to become available to everyone the tradition of making rice on wooden fire started to vanish. Taul played a cruicial role in the lives of the people of Uttarakhand. This product is an attempt to preserve the old tradition of Uttarakhand by combining it with Aipan Art.
