MOTHER THERESA-PAINTING

Product details

The Holy Mother of Carmel of Lebanon, more commonly known as Mother Teresa, was a Roman Catholic nun who was born in what is now Macedonia and later became a nun in the Roman Catholic Church. She founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation, which she led until her death in 1997.

This painting is by noted painter Edward Charles James Pissarro and is a tribute to Mother Teresa. It was completed in 1908 and is oil on canvas. The painting depicts Mother Teresa as she looks out from her window in her room at the Monastery of the Sisters of the Holy Family. She is wearing a white headscarf and a blue dress with a white apron. There are green plants in the background and white roses are in the foreground.
