Generic name: Levothyroxine sodium
Strength: 50 micrograms (mcg)
It is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone (T4), which your body normally makes.
THROX 50 is mainly used to:
Treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
Help maintain normal thyroid hormone levels
Sometimes used after thyroid surgery or in certain thyroid-related conditions (as decided by a doctor)
Your thyroid gland controls metabolism, energy, growth, and body temperature
When your body doesn’t make enough thyroid hormone, THROX 50 replaces the missing hormone
This helps improve symptoms like:
Tiredness
Weight gain
Feeling cold
Slow heart rate
Dry skin
Take once daily, usually in the morning on an empty stomach
Take it with plain water
Wait 30–60 minutes before eating
Take it at the same time every day
Do not stop or change the dose without doctor advice
Side effects usually happen if the dose is too high.

Fast or irregular heartbeat
Nervousness or anxiety
Sweating
Headache
Trouble sleeping
Weight loss
Shakiness
