A synthetic, monofilament absorbable suture
Minimal, less reactive scar with excellent cosmesis
Significant initial tensile strength
Predictable absorption
Due to its smooth texture, the suture glides through the tissue easily
Exceptional pliability, soft and supple
Trupass coated needle for easy penetration and extended smooth-ness
Monoglyde is ideal approximation material for subcuticular closure. It has low tissue reactivity and maintains 50% – 60% in-vivo tensile strength at 7 days and 20% – 30% at 2 weeks. It provides wound support of 3 – 4 weeks, a good enough time period for skin healing. The total absorption in tissues takes around 90 – 120 days.
APPLICATIONS
Used for subcuticular repair and general soft-tissue approximation
Bowel anastomoses
Closure of the peritoneum
Closure of uterus and vaginal cuff
Not recommended for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues, microsurgery or ophthalmic surgery
Since this is an absorbable suture, it should not be used for extended approximation of tissue (fascia)
