Commonly known as Lauki, Bottle gourd comes in variou shapes. It has a thin green color covering with a white flesh. It is a good source of Vitamin A, C, K, Dietary Fiber and Iron. Bottle gourd is used in the preparation of various curries in Indian cuisine. It is chopped into pieces and added in curries to savor along with hot rice or rotis. Bottle gourd is prepared as chutney to consume with rice, rotis or sometimes with dosas.
