A pneumatic limit switch box is an enclosure that integrates pneumatic components (typically small, precise pneumatic valves) to sense and signal the position or travel limits of an actuator, most commonly a quarter-turn valve (like a ball or butterfly valve). Unlike standard electrical limit switch boxes, this device uses compressed air instead of an electrical current to transmit the positional feedback signal. ?? Key Functions & Components Sensing: The internal pneumatic switches (often 3/2-way micro-valves) are actuated by a cam or position indicator connected to the actuator shaft. When the shaft reaches its fully open or fully closed position, the cams physically depress the valve stems. Signaling: This physical action causes the pneumatic valve to change state, thereby sending a distinct air pressure signal back to a central controller or positioner, indicating the valve's end-of-travel status. Enclosure: The box itself provides protection for the delicate internal components against harsh industrial environments (dust, moisture, chemicals, etc.).
