Pharmacological Activity
Nagkeshar contains antioxidant, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, central nervous system (CNS) depressant, analgesic, antimicrobial, antispasmodic, antineoplastic, antivenom and immunostimulant activity.
Note:
Nagkesar is used as a round small, Marich-like, light brownish color are is neither seed nor fruit of Nagkesar but seeds of Dalchini. Most people use this and hence they didn't get the pharmacological activity of said medicine. Nagkesar is a stamen of the flower which is used as a substitute for Keshar. In our pharmacy, we procure the stamens as shown in the above figure.
