Kashayam is one of the panchakalpanas (Five manufacturing methods) of Ayurveda. It is prepared by cooking the cleaned, dried, weighed, and chopped raw drugs. For maximum extraction coarse-sized raw materials are required. The drugs mentioned in the classical ayurvedic texts like Ashtangahridaya, Sahasrayoga, etc. are boiled in 16 times water and reduced by 1/4. Strain the liquid and further concentrate to 1/8 and filter. Then add food-grade preservative Sodium benzoate as approved by the department of Ayush and fill in air-tight pet bottles. Dose: 10 to 15 ml for adults and 5 to 10 ml for children or as directed by the Physician.
Usage: Add 3 times of lukewarm water each time to the kashayam to be taken twice daily before food on an empty stomach. Presentation: 200 ml in pet bottle.
Expiry: 3 years from the date of manufacturing.
