3D art - the paint is used to create a subtle, or not so subtle, 3D aspect. 

We live in a ‘3D’ world (OK, 4D if you include time and goodness knows how many dimensions if you are a theoretical physicist) so why not 3D paintings. 

I realise that many artists use paint that results in a 3D work, however most of my work is intentionally quite lightly painted - thus whenever I layer paints to create what I consider a 3D effect that is deliberate.
