Meet The Artist

Hello, I'm Jayashree V.R.

It must have been part of some process from when I was in my mother's womb. I don't have any other explanation for why I've always drawn and why I always found the inclination to draw. Right from my childhood through the hustle and bustle of marriage, being a mother, and then a grandmother, one thing that remained constant is sitting down in front of my easel and painting.

I have several people to thank for their support, and guidance, and mentoring. People who appeared at various phases of my journey and sat beside me as I thought of what to paint next.

All the work that I've done in the past, that am doing now, and the ones yet to come, I have a feeling you will like what you see. That's me.

Working with oils

They are as regular an aroma in my home as the smell of my garden jasmines that waft in when the summer breeze blows. I can never get enough of the rich oil colour pigments, mixing the colours, and begin working on a fresh white canvas.
