It is commonly used for holding medicine or saline solution. The flat base of the gallipot commonly used to receive excised mass or tissue in surgical procedure involving the excision of mass or biopsy or transplant.  All maneuvering using the  sharps instruments are confined to the gallipot, reducing risk of injury by eliminating transit across the surgical field. 

It is made of Polypropylene material which is not only safe to use but is also easy to clean as compared to stainless steel.

Safe : it is made of hospital grade polypropylene material in natural colors. It's FDA-approved for food contact. It also repels microorganisms and doesn't corrode, making it an overall ideal material for food contact and storage. It is Dishwasher and microwave safe.
