01 Getting started
How long does it really take to launch a store?
Create an account and add your store details. You can describe your business to the AI setup assistant to draft a brand, categories and starter products, then preview and edit the result before applying it.
Launch time depends on your catalogue, content and payment setup. Review product details and images, configure payments and delivery, and check the buying experience before sharing your store. Explore the AI tools available to help with setup.
What is my store URL, and can I change it?
Can I run more than one store?
What should I do first, before any orders arrive?
Three things, in this order:
1. Turn on the WhatsApp automations before your first sale, so you never build the habit of answering status questions by hand.
2. Gate cash on delivery — a handling fee and a COD minimum. Every seller who skipped this learned it by losing money.
3. Check your theme matches your catalogue size. Few products want an editorial theme; large catalogues want a dense grid.

02 Payments & payouts
Which payment methods can I accept?
When do I actually get paid?
Two different clocks. Online payments settle T+1 — one working day, not one calendar day, so a Friday order lands Monday — to the bank account you add under Payouts.
COD is slower. The courier collects at the door and remits on its own cycle, typically weekly. It appears in the same Payouts tab marked collected against specific orders. Plan working capital around the COD cycle, not around your order count.
What does Dukaan charge on my sales?
Two separate things, and it is worth knowing both.
The payment gateway's fee — about 2% on online payments, which goes to the gateway, not to us. Per NPCI rules, UPI transactions under ₹2,000 carry no MDR at all.
The Dukaan service fee on sales made through the platform — 4.99% on Free, 3.99% on Starter, 1.99% on Growth and 0.99% on Infinity, capped at ₹200 per order however large the order. It is not charged on manual orders you create yourself. Because of the cap, it shrinks as a share of revenue as your order values rise, and moving up a plan often costs less in subscription than it saves in fee. The worked table is here →

03 Orders, COD & delivery
How do buyers get order updates?
My RTO rate is too high. What do I change?
In this order, because this is the sequence that works:
1. Verified phones — every buyer confirms their number with an OTP before they can order. This removes fake and mistyped numbers outright.
2. A COD handling fee, waived on prepaid. This alone typically moves a meaningful share of buyers to prepaid, and prepaid orders essentially do not RTO.
3. A COD minimum order value, so tiny COD orders that cost more to ship than they earn are not offered.
4. WhatsApp shipping updates — a buyer who has read three messages about a parcel answers the delivery call.
Expect order count to dip. That is correct: fewer orders at a low RTO rate delivers more revenue than more orders at a high one. A seller who went 28% to 9% →

04 Themes, storefront & domain
How do I change my storefront theme?
Can I connect my own domain?
My storefront feels slow. What's causing it?
Almost always one of three things, in this order of likelihood:
1. Uncompressed product photos. Resize to about 1500px on the long edge before uploading — nobody can see the difference.
2. A homepage carousel with many full-width slides. Two or three beats eight, and usually converts better.
3. Plugins you installed and never used. Each one that injects a script adds to what the browser downloads. Remove the ones you are not using.
