Classic Hummus
Make way for the best, plant-based protein-rich, chip and dip companion! Made with chickpeas, it is filled with the goodness of fibre, protein, potassium, vit. B6, folate, vit C and tonnes of antioxidants! Here’s a super simple recipe for a classic hummus – feel free to experiment with beetroot or spinach puree for that extra colour!
Ingredients you’ll need
- ½ cup Farm to Fellas chickpeas (soaked overnight)
- 3 tbsp white sesame seeds (roasted)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1-2 tbsp lemon juice
- 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp salt
Procedure
- Pressure cook the pre-soaked chickpeas with salt and water for around 10-12 mins till they become extremely soft and easy to mash
- In a food processor, add in roasted sesame seeds and grind it into a fine powder.
- To this, add in chopped garlic, lemon juice, oil, ground cumin and salt. Grind again.
- Finally, add in the cooked chickpeas and blend till you get a smooth paste. Add in a splash of water if necessary!
- Sprinkle red chilli powder, garnish with fresh coriander and enjoy!
