Traditional Grain

Traditional Grain

The world we live in is currently undergoing massive deviations with respect to food choices.

It is also faced with tremendous challenges – both nutritional and agrarian. With the western

world advocating the consumption of ‘superfoods’ such as Quinoa and oats, more and more

Indians are including the same and are ready to burn a hole in their pockets in an attempt to

keep up to rising trends!

What we aren’t realizing however, is that we have an abundance of indigenous nutritionally

requisite and agriculturally competent ‘superfoods’ already available in our country which

have been a part of a traditional healthy diet since time immemorial. These grains are the

ones our grandparents have grown up eating which enabled them to stay fit, active and far

from the burden of diseases. With the shift towards more profitable, high-yielding hybrid

crops, a large number of nutritious, indigenous varieties of food grains began to lose their

place in farms and on our plates. Here are a few grains that should definitely make a

comeback into your kitchen!

We at ‘Farm to Fellas’ believe that the revival of indigenous food grains is necessary to

improve the health and nutritional status of our population. We are thus, working towards

ensuring you get the goodness of traditional food grains and millets back into your diet.

- Our ‘Desi bajri ka atta’ can easily be incorporated in chapatis, adding a punch of fibre

and necessary micronutrients

- Alternatively, ‘desi bajri ka daliya’ pounded using traditional farm tools like ‘chakki’

will ensure a delicious and energetic start to your morning breakfast

- Combining the goodness of millets and protein loaded pulses, we also have ‘moth

bajri ka daliya’ that can be conveniently made with the addition of seasonal

vegetables for a yummy one-pot meal.

- We also have a ‘Multigrain flour’ loaded with the goodness of a variety of nutritious

grains and pulses such as whole what flour, jowar flour, bajra flour, moong dal flour

and chana flour. This versatile product can very easily be used in a variety of recipes

such as in chapatis, vegetable uttapams, crackers etc. The limit is your imagination!

- Our ‘Jau Flour’ is replete with the goodness of Barley in the form of a really versatile

flour, grown using heirloom variety of organic Barley from our farms – packed with

nutrition!

- Yet another millet flour, ‘Jowar Flour’ is perfect for those going gluten-free and is

made using heirloom variety of organic jowar (sorghum), a nutritious millet grain,

from our farms!

- Our ‘Moong Flour’ is a gluten-free, pulse-based flour made using heirloom variety of

organic Moong beans from our farms. Along with being power-packed with a large

number of nutrients, this flour is supremely versatile and can be easily incorporated to

make a variety of dishes such as cheelas and khandvis!

Its time to go back to our roots and follow the footsteps of our grandparents to ensure good

health prevails!
