Traditional Grain
Traditional Grain
The world we live in is currently undergoing massive deviations with respect to food choices.
It is also faced with tremendous challenges – both nutritional and agrarian. With the western
world advocating the consumption of ‘superfoods’ such as Quinoa and oats, more and more
Indians are including the same and are ready to burn a hole in their pockets in an attempt to
keep up to rising trends!
What we aren’t realizing however, is that we have an abundance of indigenous nutritionally
requisite and agriculturally competent ‘superfoods’ already available in our country which
have been a part of a traditional healthy diet since time immemorial. These grains are the
ones our grandparents have grown up eating which enabled them to stay fit, active and far
from the burden of diseases. With the shift towards more profitable, high-yielding hybrid
crops, a large number of nutritious, indigenous varieties of food grains began to lose their
place in farms and on our plates. Here are a few grains that should definitely make a
comeback into your kitchen!
We at ‘Farm to Fellas’ believe that the revival of indigenous food grains is necessary to
improve the health and nutritional status of our population. We are thus, working towards
ensuring you get the goodness of traditional food grains and millets back into your diet.

Its time to go back to our roots and follow the footsteps of our grandparents to ensure good
health prevails!
