Laapsi (Meetha Daliya)
This traditional dessert is favorite in North India, especially around Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Made using broken wheat, jaggery and dried fruit, this is one dessert that is loaded with fiber and does more than just satisfying your sweet tooth!
Ingredients you’ll need
• 1 cup Farm to Fellas whole wheat daliya (dry roasted)
• 1/4 cup Farm to Fellas Desi A2 Cow Ghee
• 3/4 cup Farm to Fellas jaggery (powdered)
• 2 cloves
• 1 pinch salt
• 3 cups water
• 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
• 1/4 cup chopped nuts
Procedure
- Dry roast whole wheat daliya and keep aside.
- In a pressure cooker, add in the roasted daliya, jaggery powder, salt and water. Pressure cook for around 3-4 whistles.
- In a pan, add in ghee. Roast the cloves for a while. Add in the cooked jaggery daliya mixture and cook while stirring constantly, until it starts to leave ghee at the sides.
- Add in cardamom powder, garnish with chopped nuts and enjoy!
