Moong Dal Flour Khandvi
This favorite Gujarati snack is usually made using chickpea flour (besan) but here’s presenting a Farm to Fellas twist on the same! We assure you it will taste delicious!
Ingredients you’ll need (2 serves)
- ½ cup Farm to Fellas Moong flour
- ½ cup curd
- 1 tsp ginger -green chilli paste
- 1/8th tsp Farm to Fellas turmeric powder
- 1/4th tsp asafoetida
- ½ tbsp oil
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- 4-5 curry leaves
- Chopped coriander for garnishing
Procedure
- In a non-stick pan, add in moong dal flour, curd, ginger-chilli paste, turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt and 1/4th cup water.
- Cook on low flame for 4-5 minutes, stirring continuously until it thickens.
- On a greased plate, spread a spoonful of this batter. After waiting for a few seconds, try to roll up into the shape of a khandvi. If it doesn’t seem to be able to roll, cook the batter for some more time and try again later.
- On the reverse side of a greased surface, spread this batter thin and uniform using a spatula while it is still hot.
- When it cools down a bit, cut the spread sheet lengthwise and start rolling carefully.
- For the tempering, heat some mustard seeds in oil and add in some curry leaves and asafoetida.
- Pour this tempering mix over the khandvis, garnish with coriander and serve!
